Plitvice Lakes, Croatia

Friday May 12, 2017
At Plitvice Lakes, water flowing over limestone has created a natural wonderland of lips and hanging ledges dripping with moss and flowers. Cascading terraces, from the upper lakes to succesively lower ones, are magical in greens and the crystal clear blues of rushing water. Boardwalks of ruff hewned logs weave in front of and along the lips of the cascades, immersing you in this idyllic paradise. But you must go very early and very late to avoid the crowds. It is a beautiful place, but no undiscovered!
